Superbank

bank description
It was announced on 4 August 2006 that the lending assets of Superbank have been bought by GE Money. Superbank is closing down its banking operations.

SuperSaver accounts have not been bought and we will be withdrawing the SuperSaver product from the 25th of September 2006.

SuperAccess transaction accounts have not been bought and we will be withdrawing this product from non-lending customers on the 8th of September 2006.

The Superbank brand will still belong to the owners, but the bank will cease to operate.

Superbank will commence full closedown from the 6th of November 2006. The SuperSaver product will be completely withdrawn from 25th of September 2006 and the SuperAccess product will be withdrawn from non-lending customers on the 8th of September 2006.

The partners (St. George Bank & Foodstuffs) conducted a review of the business. As a result, a commercial decision was made to sell the bank’s lending portfolio to GE Money and close down the banking operations.
